- Katz’s – The 1rst stop on the pastrami pilgrimage and so great looking inside.
- Co. Jim Lahey’s pizza joint. This is what paradise will be like.
- Boqueria – really authentic and well-executed tapas.
- Nha Trang – our go to Vietnamese place.
- The Modern – haven’t been there in a while but it left a memorable impression, especially the veal and goat cheese terrine, if they have it.
- Union Square Cafe – Yup tried and true
- Heidelberg – the last German outpost in the neighborhood I grew up in – right next to Schaller & Webber, the last great German butcher and sausagemaker.
- Spotted Pig – The Breslin
- Hummus Place – humble but excellent.
